Publications and research

Research is fundamental to the advancement of conservation and collections care. My achievements in this area have been carried out in collaboration with colleagues and I am gratified to have been involved in some significant pieces of work, most notably: the formation of the self-assessment Benchmarks scheme, best practice guidelines on collections care volunteering, the Society of Archivists' specifications for packaging materials and the description of the fascicule system at the Bodleian Library.

• Benchmarks in Collections Care: self-assessment checklist
  One year research project funded by the Library and Information mmission in partnership with Nancy Bell, 1999 to 2000. This project was the precursor to the current Benchmarks hosted by Collections Link
